Penal is a free football pool app where you predict matches and compete against your friends, family or colleagues. Available for iOS and Android.

In Penal you predict the results of matches within a competition of your choice. With your predictions you earn points and climb the standings.

You automatically participate in the general standings of that competition. But the real battle is in your own pool. There you compete against friends, family or colleagues and see who scores the most points.

The better your predictions, the higher you finish — so it comes down to insight, timing and a bit of luck.

After our first edition during Euro 2024, we continued to improve and expand Penal.

In the run-up to the 2026 World Cup, you can already join competitions like the Champions League. And after the World Cup, more will follow, including the Eredivisie, Premier League and Bundesliga.

So there is always a competition to join — and more are being added all the time.

Yes! Joining competitions is free, and you can also create a basic pool for free to compete with friends, family, or colleagues.

Yes, you can play in multiple pools at the same time. That way you compete against different groups.

Your predictions are the same everywhere — so you only need to fill them in once.

You can earn a maximum of 55 points per match. Points are distributed as follows:

• Correct winner or draw predicted — 25 points
• Correct number of home team goals — 5 points
• Correct number of away team goals — 5 points
• Correct goal difference — 5 points
• Exact score correct — 15 points

The more you get right, the higher your score. Get everything right and you earn the full 55 points.

In some matches you can earn extra points with a bonus question.

Additionally, you can use a number of doublers per competition. All points you earn with your prediction for that match are doubled.
Note: the doubler only applies to your prediction, not to the bonus question.

Important:
You predict the result including extra time. A penalty shootout does not count.

Yes, you can fill in or change your predictions until the match kicks off. Once the match starts, your predictions are locked in.

Each competition you receive a number of doublers. You can use a doubler on a match of your choice. All points you earn with your prediction for that match are then doubled.

Note: the doubler only applies to your prediction, not to the bonus question. Once the match kicks off, your choice is final.

When there is a tie, the players share the position in the standings. No distinction is made based on additional criteria.

The crystal ball was a feature during Euro 2024, where you made predictions about the tournament, such as the top scorer or winner.

For the 2026 World Cup it has been replaced by doublers and bonus questions, with which you can earn extra points during the tournament.
